Paschim Bardhaman: With 15 days left for Bengal’s biggest festival, the increase in COVID cases in Paschim Bardhaman as well as in Durgapur has resulted in a reason for the confusion among Durgapurians about what to do during the Durga Puja.
In Paschim Bardhaman, 587 new cases were reported in the last 7 days. This brings the total number of cases to 7724.
6870 people have recovered so far and 76 people have lost their lives in the district.

According to the latest update, 85 new cases were reported on 6th October, taking the number of active cases to 758.
On 5th October, the number of new cases were 71. 94, 78 and 93 new cases were reported on 4th, 3rd and 2nd of October.
87 and 79 new cases on 1st October and 30th September respectively were reported.
Though the number of daily new cases has decreased as compared to that of September, the rate of daily cases is still very high and experts are predicting steady growth in cases all across India during the upcoming festive season.
Durga Puja pandals of all the major Puja committees across Durgapur have already started in full swing. The West Bengal government has already issued many guidelines regarding Durga Puja in the state.
