A huge success and achievement for Sohini Bandyopadhyay, as she became the winner of under-13 Badminton Championship at the state level. The tournament was held between 15-20th of May.
It was held in North Bengal where Sohini defeated Suparna Chaudhary.
After that, she won the Bengal Champion tournament in badminton held at Raiganj between 24-28th July.
Previously she also won a couple of other state level tournaments.
In future, Sohini wants to represent India like P.V. Sindhu.
Though she is not an extremely experienced player as her father Soumen Bandyopadhyay gave her badminton only about three years ago, in this 3years she had achieved a lot.
Sohini practiced in Sidhu-Kanu Indoor Stadium and Steel Township Bidhanbhavan.
Her father said, “She showed the interest for badminton at a very early age. Recently she has got a chance in Bhubaneswar SAI (Sports Authority of India). Besides studies, she will continue the practice.”
Besides the state level tournaments, Sohini has other admirable achievements.
She stood 3rd in Delhi Championship in National Level. She topped in CBSE team event.
Her mother Ruma Bandyopadhyay is a school teacher. She had contributed a lot in her daughter’s success.
Sohini said, “Father gave me guidance and my Mom gave me enthusiasm. I met P.V. Sindhu in Hyderabad and bottled some valuable tips.”
