You can add nominees to your bike or car online. This nominee is registered on your vehicle registration certificate or RC.

The MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT & HIGHWAYS has made it easier to add a vehicle nominee online through their official website parivahan.gov.in.

Details required to add a nominee to your bike or car online

You need the following details of your vehicle to add a nominee to your bike or car online,

  1. Vehicle Registration Number
  2. Chassis Number (Full)
  3. Engine Number(Full)
  4. Registration Date
  5. Registration/Fitness Valid Upto Date

You need the fitness up-to-date for commercial vehicles and registration up to date for private vehicles.

Steps to add a nominee to your bike and car online

To add a nominee to your vehicle,

Step 1: Go to the official website of Parivahan

  1. First, go to the official website of Parivahan at parivahan.gov.in
  2. Next, go to the ‘Online Services’ option in the top menu.
  3. Next, click on the ‘Vehicle Related Services’ option.
  4. A new page will open up.

Step 2: Select your State and RTO

  1. On the new page, you will be asked to select your state. Select it.
  2. Another page will open up.
  3. On that page, select your RTO from the drop-down list.
  4. Next, click on the ‘Proceed’ button.
  5. A popup will open. Scroll down and click on the ‘Ok’ button.
  6. A new page will open up.

Step 3: Select the ‘Add Nominee Details’ option

  1. Now on the new page, go to the ‘Services’ option on the main menu.
  2. Next, go to the ‘Additional Services’ option.
  3. Next, click on the ‘Add Nominee Details’ option.
  4. A new page will open.

Step 4: Enter vehicle details

  1. On this page, enter your Vehicle Registration Number, Chassis No (Full), and Engine Number(Full).
  2. Next, enter your Registration Date and Registration/Fitness Valid Upto Date.
  3. Next, click on the ‘Verify Details’ button.
  4. A new page will open up. On this page, click on the ‘Generate OTP’ button.
  5. An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number. Enter it in the specified field.
  6. Next, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  7. A new page will open.

Step 5: Add the nominee to your vehicle

  1. On the new page, enter the name of the nominee.
  2. Next, select the Relation with Nominee from the drop-down menu.
  3. Next, select the nomination date.
  4. Next, click on the ‘Save’ button.
  5. Next, click on the ‘Confirm Payment’ button. (The payment is Rs. 0 as the service is free)

The nominee application will be sent successfully and will be registered on your Vehicle RC shortly.

By following the steps you can easily add a nominee to your vehicle online through the official website of Parivahan at parivahan.gov.in.

You can also download your Vehicle NOC, Fitness Certificate PDF, and the Registration Certificate (RC) of your vehicle from the Parivahan website.
