Kolkata: The West Bengal government has again changed the dates of “2 days per week” complete lockdown.
This is the forth time the dates are changed by the government.
The new dates for the two days per week lockdown for August are:
- 5th August 2020
- 8th August 2020
- 20th August 2020
- 21st August 2020
- 27th August 2020
- 28th August 2020 and
- 31st August 2020
According to the sources, this changes are made to make sure that the days doesn’t consider with Bakr-Eid, Raksha Bandhan, Independence Day, and Ganesh Chaturthi dates.

Previously the announced dates were 5th, 8th, 16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th, 31st August.
The complete lockdown dates were announced by the West Bengal government previous week as a preventive measure to stop the spreading of COVID.
In Durgapur, Durgapur sub divisional magistrate Anirban Koley stated previous week that, only the complete lockdown will be imposed on the announced dates. The previous local restrictions were lifted.
