Now another higher police official tested positive

Asansol: A few days back 13 police personnels tested positive in Raniganj.

Yesterday three Police Officers tested positive in Durgapur, and now another higher police official tested positive in the Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionarate.

The Police commissioner of Asansol- Durgapur region, Sukesh Jain tested positive to COVID yesterday.

According to the source, he was not feeling well for some days and he had mild symptoms of COVID.

So, his swab sample was collected and was sent for testing on Wednesday.

Yesterday his test result came, in which it was stated that he tested positive.

CP Sukesh Jain has been instructed by State Government to work from home.

He is working from home for last 3 days in a row now.

The news of several Police officers being affected by COVID and now the Commissioner of Police has startled the administrative body.

The total number of COVID cases in Paschim Bardhaman was 572 till today, with 25 new cases in last 24 hours.

The Asansol Durgapur police is trying their best to ensure our safety and to maintain proper lockdown throughout Paschim Bardhaman.

The total number of cases in Durgapur crossed 150 as per sources.

After a day of lockdown, today in various markets, people were seen gathering in huge numbers.

No social distancing was seen what so ever. Some are even seen without masks.

Yesterday, 95 people were arrested in Durgapur for breaking lockdown rules.
