Now some CISF jawans tested positive in Durgapur Steel Plant

Durgapur: The COVID cases are on the rise both in Durgapur as well as in Paschim Bardhaman. The total number of cases crossed 4000 recently in the district.

Previously some reports have come up claiming some employees of Durgapur Steel Plant tested positive as well.

Now according to the latest news reports, 12 CISF jawans stationed at Durgapur Steel Plant tested positive to COVID.

They are currently under treatment. How they got infected is still not known.

Recent bulletin by the West Bengal government shows that there are more than 800 active cases in the district. A substantial amount of active cases are from Durgapur as well.

There is a recent increase in positive cases in many areas of Durgapur including Gopalmath, City Center, some areas of Bidhannagar, and many more.

Some inmates of Durgapur Sub-Correctional Homes also tested positive according to recent reports.

This recent increase in the number of cases have raised a matter of concern for the Durgapur administration.

According to them, raising awareness is the only way to keep the spread in check. Initiatives like “Pocket Zones” are being set up in different areas all across Durgapur to raise awareness about the situation of COVID in those areas and the impotance of the use of mask and sanitizers.

Tablo cars have also been inaugurated by SDM of Durgapur Anirban Kolay that will go across the city and will supply masks and sanitizers to all passers-by who will not have one.
