Durgapur: It was previously announced that the Durgapur Municipal Corporation will remain closed for the general public till 31st July.
This announcement was made on 15th July 2020 after a lot of people were gathering near DMC for various services like tax submission.
According to news sources, on 31st July, it was decided that the Durgapur Municipal Corporation will now remain closed for the general public till 31st August.
This is done for the safety of the people and to contain the spread of COVID.
However, online services like Holding Tax submission and other emergency services will be available.
On 31st July, the office of the Sub – Divisional Magistrate issued a notice stating that all local restrictions has been lifted from 1st August 2020.
According to a bulletin released by Govt of West Bengal on 1st August, 88 new cases are reported in Paschim Bardhaman on 31st July.
According to sources, another doctor of Durgapur SD Hospital tested positive in Durgapur.
Some more cases were reported in Andal, Sepco, Bengal Ambuja, A-Zone and some other areas of Durgapur.
