A robbery took place in a temple in Shalbagan on Tuesday. This led to a situation of unrest near the Durgapur Cokeoven Police station in GamonBridge Area.
When the priest of the temple came the next morning, he saw that the lock of the temple door was broken. The robbers took away the expensive pieces of jewelry and assets from the idol as well as the temple.
A lot of local residents gather outside the temple on hearing about the robbery. The police informed that a good amount of treasures and lakhs of rupees in cash have been stolen from the temple. The police have started their investigation regarding this matter.
The local people have informed the police to increase surveillance in the area to reduce incidents of theft and robbery.
