Durgapur: Steel Authority of India limited’s Durgapur Steel plant is about to start a new Corona Hospital in Durgapur as a part of a joint venture between SAIL (Durgapur Steel Plant), Government of West Bengal, and Health World Hospitals.

Durgapur Steel Plant CHRD department has been converted into a hospital for the purpose.

Everyone has appreciated this initiative as a combat against the increasing number of cases in Paschim Bardhaman.

According to sources, Corona treatment at this hospital will cost much less than any other super specialty hospital in the state.

Although Health World is a private hospital, they have joined hands with SAIL and the West Bengal government to build the hospital to fulfill its social duty.

A total of 67 medical staff will work in this new hospital.

Apart from that, a small ICU with 8-10 beds has also been set up here. This ICU is only for those who will fall seriously ill while in this hospital. Outpatients cannot be admitted to the ICU.

The nominal daily charges will be Rs 3,000 per bed will be applicable. In this cost, the patient’s food, oxygen, and all medicines will be included.

According to the hospital authorities, since not everyone needs Remdesivir, the price of this medicine is not included in the daily charges.

The ICU will also cost a nominal, Rs 5,000 daily. Everything mentioned above will be included in this cost.

According to the hospital authorities, the hospital charges will be covered under all health insurance policies as applicable.
