You need the following details to create an account on DigiLocker,
- Full name (as per your Aadhar)
- Date of Birth (as per your Aadhar)

- Your email ID (optional)
- Your Aadhaar number

Steps to create an account on DigiLocker
To register on the Digilocker portal,
Step 1: Go to the official website of Digilocker
- First, go to the official website of digilocker at digilocker.gov.in.
- Next, click on the “Sign Up” button on the top right corner of the homepage.
- A new page will open.

Step 2: Enter your details
- On the signup page, enter your name and date of birth as per your Aadhar card.
- Next, select your Gender.
- Next, enter your mobile number.
- Next, set a 6-digit PIN.
- Next, enter your email ID (optional).
- Next, enter your Aadhar number.
- Next, click on the ‘Submit’ button.

Step 3: Set your username
- An OTP will be sent to your mobile number.
- Next, enter the OTP in the specified field.
- Next, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
- Next, set an available username of your choice.
- Next, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
- Next, click on the ‘Ok’ button.
You will be registered on the Digilocker portal. You can start using Digilocker. However, it is recommended to verify your Aadhar number to access various issued documents.
Step 4: Link your Aadhaar number
- To link your Aadhaar number, click on the ‘Unique Identification Authority of India’ option on the home screen.
- Next, click on the ‘Aadhar Card’ option.
- Next, click the checkbox and then click on the ‘Update’ option.
- An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-registered mobile number.
- Next, enter the OTP in the specified field.
- Next, click on the “Update” button.
Your Aadhaar number will be linked to your Digilocker account.
