More than 500 people, who are under home isolation, are under the observation of the Paschim Barddhaman health department.
The health department and Paschim Barddhaman Administration are continuously following up with them about their health conditions as per media reports.
In order to stop the spread of the COVID-19, PM Modi had declared a lockdown across the nation till 14th April. This announcement came after the lockdown in West Bengal was extended till 31st March.
According to the Sub-divisional Magistrate of Durgapur, Mr. Anirban Koley, more than 500 people are under home Isolation and the district health department of Paschim Barddhaman are following up with their health conditions.
He also requested everyone to remain and home and to follow the lockdown as it is very important for the safety of every citizen of the country.
The Durgapur police are trying their best to maintain this lockdown and are requesting everyone to stay at home and not to get out unless its an emergency or its something essential.
The Asansol Durgapur Police has started a helpline number to help the citizens during this lockdown.
They are repeatedly warning people that the violation of lockdown will be treated as a criminal offense.
No confirmed case of COVID-19 is found in Durgapur so far.
At the time of publishing this, more than 600 people across India are affected by the virus and it has taken the life of 15.
