A one-day-old baby was recovered from beside the main road near Trilakchandrapur.
Monday morning police from Kanksha Police station found the baby near the road.
The baby was taken to Kanksha Primary Health Centre and was later taken to Durgapur SD Hospital.
Police have started enquiry to find out who left the baby at the side of the road and why.
