In the evening of Bijaya Dashami the Dussehra festival was celebrated in a huge manner at Chitralay Mela Maidan.
Many people gathered at the ground on Friday. At first members of Akhil Bhartiya Cultural Committee put up a show based on ‘Ramayana’.
After that the replicas of ‘Ravana’, ‘Indrajit’ and ‘Kumbhakarna’ , the mythical characters from the epic ‘Ramayana’ , were set on fire.
Along with that fireworks were also there lightning up the sky with beautiful colours.
CEO of Durgapur steel plant ignited the Ravana doll and established the victory of good power over evil power.
Asansol Durgapur police commissioner DCP Abhishek Modi, his family and other respectable person were present to watch the fireworks and to enjoy the festival.
