137 people arrested today in Durgapur

Durgapur: After 95 people were arrested on Thursday for violation of lockdown, today, people were still seen roaming in the roads without proper personal protection or mask and violating rules of lockdown.

Today, even more bikes and cars were seen on the road then the previous day of 2 days per week lockdown.

Police of Durgapur had started to arrest people who were seen in public places without masks earlier in this week.

West Bengal Government had announced 3 days complete lock down in the state on 23rd, 25th and 29th July.

So today whole state was in lockdown phase from 6am to 10pm.

According to sources, 137 people have been arrested by Durgapur Police for violating rules of lockdown.

Total 12 people were arrested for not wearing mask and violating rules of lockdown in Kanksha.

In this last few weeks several Police officers and commissioner of police of Asansol Durgapur Police commissionarate have been affected.

Also, few doctors and nursing staffs of Durgapur Sub-divisional Hospital have been tested positive.

According to a WB Health Bulletin, 57 new cases were recorded in Paschim Bardhaman in the last 24 hours.
