Durgapur Headmaster selected for National Teachers' Award

Durgapur: Dr. Kalimul Haque, principal of Nepali para Hindi High school, Durgapur, is going to receive ‘Sikkharatna‘ prize from President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, for his epic contribution in the field of education.

He is going to be awarded on teachers’ day, 6th September.

Dr. Kalimul Haque pulled the school from the a very weak background, and because of his contribution, the school has now achieved fourth position in the entire state.

He started his job as a teacher in the year 1999.

In the year 2004, he was promoted as the principal of Nepali para High School for his excellent contribution.

At that time this school was not that famous in the area and was financially challenged.

As a headmaster, he made some major reforms in the school.

Major infrastructural changes like a centralized audio system and rain water harvesting system were introduced.

Apart from Government, he took help from various non-government organisations and reinforced the structure of the school.

Many other teachers and local residents came forward to help him.

He also introduced many innovative and interesting learning techniques for the students.

In the year 2016 he was awarded as ‘Best Principal’ in the Bardhaman district (Purba and Paschim Bardhaman combined).

The school achieved the tag of second best school in the entire district.

From then his journey has never stopped.

At present, in Nepalipara Hindi High school, the number of student is around 3500.

All kinds of modern infrastructure is available in the school.

The transition of the school from nothing to everything was made possible mainly because of this one person.

Dr. Kalimul Haque got selected for the National Teachers’ Award 2020 because of his efforts in improving the school entirely and for introducing such innovative and interactive learning techniques for the students.
