Durgapur Durga Puja Pandals 2020 - Virtual Tour, Themes and Guide Map

Durgapur’s Durga Puja Pandals are one of the most popular pandals in West Bengal.

Previous year we showed our readers most of the Pandals in our city of Durgapur.

Just like the “city of joy”, the “Steel City” of Durgapur also has its own set of some uniquely themed pandals that attracts a lot of visitors every year.

But this year, as we all know, the Durga Puja is not the same anymore and the Calcutta High Court recently released an order restricting visitors from entering Puja Pandals across the state.

So this year, we tried our best to capture the Puja Pandals with our cameras so that you can view them virtually sitting at home.

Here is the list of some of the most popular Puja Pandals in the city of Durgapur with their themes, location, and details. Virtual tours of some of them are also included in this article.

Marconi

Marconi Dakshin Pally Puja Pandal is one of the most popular Puja Pandals in Durgapur that attracts a lot of visitors every year. This year it was inaugurated on 20th October.

This Puja Pandal is located near Chandidas market, B-Zone.

They are also following all the guidelines as instructed by the state government and the Calcutta High Court. Masks and Sanitizers will also be present at the Pandal.

Theme:

Marconi is known for its unique themes that they put up every year.

This year also, Marconi Dakshin Pally put together a theme that has a fusion of Rajasthani Gharana and Vintage Bengal styles in it. They are calling this theme “Krishno Prem o Vababe“.

The idol of Ma Durga is designed by Artist Arun Pal.

Fuljhor

Fuljhor Sarbojonin Durga Puja Committee’s Pandal is also one of the most popular Durgapur Durga Puja Pandals.

They are celebrating their 29th Puja this year. The pandal was inaugurated on 20th October 2020.

In case you forget to wear your masks, they will provide it at the pandal. Apart from that, sanitizers will also be kept in the pandal.

Theme:

Fuljhor is another Durgapur Durga Puja Pandal that is known for its unique themes every year.

This year their theme is “Shantir Path” designed by Tapas Hazra.

The idol of Ma Durga at Fuljhor is also designed by Artist Arun Pal.

Sector 2C

Sector 2C Puja Pandal is another theme-based Puja Pandal in Bidhannagar, Durgapur attracting a lot of visitors from all over Durgapur and other nearby places.

However this year, as we saw, these was no such theme.

Buddha Bihar, C-Zone

Buddha Bihar Durga Puja Pandal located in C-Zone, Durgapur is another renowned Puja pandal in the steel city.

They are known for their creative and attractive themes every year.

Theme:

This year also they choose a simple yet attractive theme for their pandal.

We didn’t get anyone to talk to and therefore don’t exactly know the name of the theme

Cement Park

Cement Park’s Puja Pandal is one of the most renowned Durgapur Durga Puja Pandals. Located in the heart of Durgapur, City Center, they come up with some unique themes every year.

Theme:

This year, their theme is “Aabar Notun kore”.

The pandal is very uniquely designed with bi-cycle rims, bottles and many other things.

The idol of Ma Durga at Cement park is designed by Poritosh Sikhdar.

Santose

Club Santose Puja Association is celebrating its 50th Puja this year. This Puja Pandal is known for its unique theme based pujas in the Steel city of Durgapur.

They also organize cultural programs and attracts a lot of visitors every year.

However, this year there is no such theme. The cultural program has been canceled as well, keeping the current situation in mind.

They also said that though this year is their 50th Anniversary, they will be celebrating it next year.

Club Santos is located in Bidhannagar.

Chaturanga

Chaturanga is one of the most popular puja pandals located in City Center, Durgapur. Every year they create some amazing themes and attract a lot of visitors every year.

Its location and the cultural festival that they organize every year attract a lot of visitors.

However this year, there is no such theme. The pandal is kept open on all sides keeping the current situation in mind.

There will also be no cultural program or stalls.
