Driving Licence Download (PDF) Online | How To Get DL Soft Copy

The driving licence is an important document and must be kept with you most of the time.

But sometimes in certain situations, you may not have your driving licence with us.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India has made it easier to download your Driving Licence online through the DigiLocker app or website at digilocker.gov.in.

Requirements to download Driving Licence Soft Copy

The documents or data required to download the soft copy (PDF) of your Driving License online are,

  1. Driving License number
  2. Digi locker account

In case you don’t have a Digi locker account, you need to first sign up using your Aadhaar number.

Steps to download Driving Licence PDF (Soft Copy) online

To download your Driving License Soft Copy or PDF document online,

Step 1: Go to the official website of Digilocker

  1. First, go to the official website of Digilocker at digilocker.gov.in or download the Digilocker app.
  2. Next, click on the ‘Sign In’ button.
  3. Next, enter the registered mobile number and PIN.
  4. Next, click on the ‘Sign In’ button to log in.
  5. The dashboard of Digilocker will open up.

Step 2: Select the Driving Licence option

  1. Now, click on the ‘Browse Documents’ option.
  2. Next, click on the ‘Driving Licence’ option.
  3. Next, select the transport department of your state.
  4. Once the new page opens, enter your driving licence (DL) number.
  5. Next, check the checkbox and click on the ‘Get Document’ button.

Step 3: Download Driving Licence (DL) PDF

  1. Your Driving Licence will be displayed on your screen.
  2. Next, click on the Download icon.
  3. Next, select the PDF option.
  4. Your Driving Licence PDF will be downloaded.

You can also take a printout of the PDF document if you want.

By following these steps, you can easily download your Driving Licence Soft Copy (PDF) online using the Digilocker portal or app.

You can also show your Driving Licence, if needed, through the mParivahan app. This app allows you to save a virtual copy of your DL in it.
