To lock your Aadhaar biometrics online,

Step 1: Go to the official website

  1. First, go to the official website of UIDAI at uidai.gov.in.
  2. Next, click on the “My Aadhar” option that appears on the top menu.
  3. Next, click on the “Aadhar Services” option.
  4. Next, click on the “Lock/Unlock Biometrics” option.
  5. The ‘myAadhar’ portal will open in front of you.

Step 2: Log in to the My Aadhar portal

  1. Now, click on the “Login” button.
  2. Next, enter your ‘Aadhar Number’ in the specified field.
  3. Next, enter the ‘Captcha Code’ in the specified field.
  4. Next, click on the “Send OTP” button.
  5. The OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. 
  6. Next, enter the OTP in the specified field and click on the “Login” button.

Step 3: Lock Aadhar Biometrics

  1. Next, click on the “Lock/Unlock Biometrics” option.
  2. A page will open in front of you with the list of items you can block.
  3. Next, click on the “Next” button.
  4. A page will open for confirmation.
  5. Next, tick the check box and click on the “Next” button.

Your biometrics will be locked successfully.

Step 1: Go to the myAadhaar portal

  2. Now, click on the “Login” button.
  3. A new page will open.

Step 2: Login to the My Aadhar portal

  2. Next, enter the Captcha Code in the specified field.
  3. Next, click on the “Send OTP” button.
  4. The OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  5. Next, enter the OTP in the specified field and click on the “Login” button.

Step 3: Unlock Aadhar Biometrics

  1. Next, click on the “Lock/Unlock Biometrics” option.
  2. Next, click on the “Next” button.
  3. Next, tick the confirmation check box.
  4. You will get two options: to unlock your biometrics temporarily or permanently. Tick the appropriate option.
  5. Next, click on the “Next” button.

Your Aadhaar biometrics will be unlocked based on the selection made.
