LPG Gas KYC Update (Online eKYC and Offline) Process 2024

If you are an LPG consumer, the Government of India has made it mandatory to complete your LPG Gas KYC update process to avail the subsidy benefits from the government under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) scheme.

Various gas connection companies have therefore started both offline and online methods to complete this KYC update process.

This process is also required to get a new LPG connection or transfer an existing one.

As of now, the last date to complete the KYC process is December 31, 2023.

Details required to complete LPG Gas KYC

You will need your Aadhar number to complete your LPG Gas KYC update online or offline. You might also need a scanned copy or photocopy of your proof of identity and proof of address documents.

How to complete LPG Gas KYC online

The KYC process for LPG gas can be done using two main methods: online or offline, depending on the customer’s preference and convenience. 

Online KYC (eKYC)

The Online KYC (or eKYC) for your LPG connection can be done online through the official website or app of your LPG company, such as BharatGas, HPGas, or Indane.

You may also have to upload a scanned copy of their proof of identity (POI) and proof of address (POA) documents, if required. Then, you have to verify your Aadhaar number by entering a one-time password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number or by using biometric authentication such as face or fingerprint scans.

Offline KYC

To complete the LPG Gas KYC update offline, you need to visit your nearest LPG distributor and then submit the filled-up KYC form along with the photocopy of the proof of identity (POI) and proof of address (POA) documents. You may also have to provide your Aadhaar number and bank account details to the distributor for subsidy transfer.

You can obtain the KYC form from the distributor or download and print it from the official website of your Gas connection company (if available).
